AudioBuddy

A companion for the curious listener

A question shouldn’t
end the story.

Ask about your audiobook or podcast, hear a spoken answer, then return to your place.

For iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Mac.

Ask without losing your place.

A character you can’t place. An unfamiliar word. An idea worth talking through. Tap Ask, use a headphone control, or type a question. Follow up, then return to the recording at the start of the sentence.

Your library, with a companion.

Import compatible audiobook files, explore free LibriVox books, or find podcasts and add episodes from their feeds. On iPhone, share an episode link from Podcasts or Safari.

Choose how answers work.

Use an on-device model on a supported device, or connect an AI service with your own API key. Keep answers focused on what you’ve heard, or choose to discuss the whole book.

AI can make mistakes. The heard-so-far setting limits the context supplied to it; it is not a guarantee against spoilers.

A familiar voice, with permission.

With the optional voice model, AudioBuddy can synthesize replies using a sample from the recording. A built-in system voice is also available. Cloned replies are AI-generated, not recordings of the narrator or host. Use voice samples only with the speaker’s consent.

Your next listen.

Requires iOS/iPadOS 26 or later, or macOS 26 or later on Apple silicon. On-device AI availability depends on the device and selected model.
